Once your baby dino is hatched, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on its food and water levels and make sure it doesn’t get too hungry or thirsty. They also need to be kept warm, so building a fire or using a heat lamp is also recommended. Once it is hatched, you will be spending a lot of time with it so be prepared. Make sure you designate food for the creature you are hatching and get a lot. Hatchlings especially should be fed every few hours or they will starve to death.ĭon’t put the food in feeding troughs because the other dinos will devour everything. Baby dinosaurs have small stomachs so they need to eat frequently. You should stock up on food and not place it into the feeding trough because the dino will not be able to eat it all and it will go to waste. ![]() Stock up on food depending on what you are hatching Just keep in mind that it is a long and tedious process. It is not like you are forced to wait 4 hours for this one dinosaur to hatch. If you do need to get off or stop the process for any reason, don’t worry, because you can save it for later. It does take an absurdly long time for an egg to be incubated, but if you pick the egg up, you won’t actually lose any of the progress. Once the egg hatches, you will be able to tame the new dinosaur. The amount of time it takes for an egg to hatch varies depending on the type of egg, but it typically takes a very long time even for low-level creatures. Then, you need to wait for the egg to hatch. Obviously, people do enjoy that and one mechanic in Ark that most people don’t really get into is the egg hatching. It is very similar to Rust in a way that sucks all the time from anything else. I highly recommend trying out ARK: Survival Evolved.Ark is definitely a very complicated game and you need a lot of time to sink into the game to get anywhere. New gamers may struggle a bit with the difficulty, but given time, they will adapt. Overall, Ark offers something for everyone to enjoy, building, fighting dinosaurs, selectively breeding your best dinosaurs, and of course, adventure people who are willing to put in effort to receive gratification are the ones who will best enjoy Ark. However, it is worth noting that many of these PVP servers are very competitive and often a hostile environment for new players. Others may even try their luck at a PVP server, a version of the game where players fight and raid one another. Ark also has very high technical requirements. These bugs definitely lessen the immersion that is otherwise experienced within the game. The endgame is pretty repetitive but the difficult boss fights still make the game enjoyable. The difficult yet rewarding experience of struggling to survive massive dinosaurs is where the game is at its best. I find Ark to be the most enjoyable at the early stages of the game. In terms of actual gameplay, Ark is most similar to other survival games such as Minecraft, albeit much more difficult. The fictional world of Ark is composed of many separate “Maps” with their own geography, dinosaurs, and bosses. In Ark, players must survive dangerous creatures as they go from primitive tools to high-tech equipment. Ark is playable on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Ark is free from September 22-29 on the Epic Game Store, so now is a great time to pick up the game for the first time. ![]() ARK: Survival Evolved, an exciting dinosaur filled, survival game, is the subject of this month’s game spotlight.
